- LK’s Pizza Oven Premium or Econo
- LK’s Pizza Shovel and Pizza Spade - Included in LK’s Premium Pizza Oven
- LK’s Pizza Board
- Optional: LK's Charcoal Starter
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 1 Cup warm water
- 2 ¼ tsp. Active dry yeast
- 1 tsp. Sugar or honey
- 2 ½ Cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp. Olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp. Salt
For the Toppings:
- 1 Tin tomato and onion mix or braai sauce
- 1 Cheese, grated
- Dash of Italian herbs
Topping Options:
Ham, fried bacon bits, grilled chicken strips, leftover braai meat or steak, minced meat, sliced mushrooms, green or red peppers, olives, pineapple slices, cheese, feta etc.
Directions
- Get your braai going or use LK’s Charcoal Starter to get coals faster.
Note: When using the Charcoal Starter, ensure that you have made the pizza base the previous night - Place LK’s Pizza Oven on the coals and allow to preheat until 230ºC.
- For the Dough: Add warm water into a medium mixing bowl and stir in the active dry yeast and sugar. Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes.
Tip: Don’t use boiling water, use warm water instead - Once the yeast mixture becomes foamy, gently stir in the all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until smooth and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the fluffy dough from the bowl, place it on a flat surface that has been lightly sprinkled with flour, and roll out in a round shape.
Tip: Sprinkle flour on the flat surface, as well as on your hands, as this will prevent the dough from sticking. - Evenly spread the pizza base with either tomato and onion mix or braai sauce, add your desired toppings and finish it off with sprinkled cheese.
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated Pizza Oven and bake for 4 min; or until golden brown.
- Once your pizza is baked, use LK’s Pizza Shovel to remove the pizza and place on LK’s Pizza Board. Sprinkle a dash of Italian herbs and top it off with sliced avocado.
- Allow the pizza to cool for 5 minutes and cut equal slices using LK’s Pizza Cutter (included with the LK’s Premium Pizza Oven). Serve and enjoy!
