
LK's Products You'll Need
Ingredients
- 1.25 kg Boerewors Sausage
- ¼ Cup oil
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 Tsp. thyme
- 3 Garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. mild curry powder
- 1 Tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 Tsp. ground turmeric
- 1 Carrot, peeled and grated
- 3 Large tomatoes, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 250ml Water
Directions
- Add oil in the LK’s Cast Iron Skillet and place over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, bay leaf and thyme, and allow to fry for 4 minutes until softened. Sprinkle in the spices and leave to cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the tomato and carrot, and cook for a further 4 minutes.
- Gently throw in 1 cup of water, stir and reduce the heat to medium-low. Leave to cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until reduced and thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C. In the LK’s Bake Pot, lightly oil the surface and add the sausage. Leave to bake for 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Build the boerewors by firstly adding boerewors and then finally, the chakalaka. Serve and enjoy!
